The right's response was, "Entertainment shouldn't preach", which is the wrong lesson if for no other reason than it came from the left.
Entertainment has always preached, but it's only good if it preaches the Truth, and you must know the truth to be able to preach it. That's why the New Right doesn't want to preach in entertainment, and they're wrong.
